This year’s Terry Fox Run on October 25 was a great success for Yew Chung International School of Shanghai (YCIS) and the local community. More than 200 participants supported this global event to raise awareness and funds for cancer research projects.

Students, parents and local expats enjoyed the sunny skies while walking, running or rollerblading the 1K loop course at the Mandarin City apartment grounds. Congratulations to the YCIS winners: Eric Huang (Year 6A), Sergej Usow (Year 11A), and Mr. Wilcox.

Many local businesses supported the event by offering  vouchers, drinks, food, coupons, hotel stays and airline tickets, such as Carrefour, Thai Airways International, Hilton Hotel (Kunshan), Scholars Hotel, Decathlon, Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin Donuts, Coffee Bean, APSARA Spa, Sherpas Restaurant, Children’s Technology Workshop and Chaterhouse Booktrader.

Donations during and after the event have totalled 30,042 RMB. Proceeds will go to the Ruijin Hospital to aid cancer patients and Dr. Li’s ongoing research into cancer treatment.
