ycis-bj-violin-concertOn 28 April, a full audience of parents, students and teachers were treated to an array of exceptional violin performances from Yew Chung International School of Beijing (YCIS Beijing) Year 1-3 students. The concert was a real tribute to the violin program at YCIS Beijing and how far the students have developed in another wonderful year of violin study. The Year 1 students were first to display their skills, starting with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, accompanied by the piano. They were followed by a solo piece performed by Year 3 student Celeste Hong who conquered the complex song Canon with style.

The Year 2 students were next to take to the stage, amazing the audience with their renditions of Adentino and a Chinese song named Spring Time. Finally, the more experienced Year 3 students gave further faultless performances of some more challenging pieces including the YCIS School Hymn and another Chinese piece called Osmanthus Bloom in August. The students deserve a lot of recognition for their endeavor and attitude during the school year, in which all Year 1 to 3 students have two violin classes a week. Judging by the praise they received from the parents, teachers and their peers who attended the concert, their hard work was worth all the effort.
