pudong-vanke-ted1On 22 July, a TEDxKids@Dingxianglu speech themed with “Discovery • New Voice” began in the auditorium on the second floor of Shanghai Natural History Museum. Three little speakers from DTD Education got on the stage with their PPTs and, together with other children, talked freely about their thoughts and ideas, making their voice known to the world.

Wang Siwei, a sixth-Grade kid from Pudong Vanke School, had a discussion with the audience around aliens, conceiving a “Rhapsody of Aliens”; Sang Qile, a seventh-Grade kid from Shanghai Vanke Bilingual School, depicting a layered future city and getting away from the heavy traffic, proposed the “Solution to Traffic Jams”; Tang Yuqing, a ninth-Grade student also from the Vanke Bilingual School, brought the audience a story themed with “Wild Kids vs. Good Kids,” probing into the current hot topic of “wild kids”, and demonstrated the realistic problems behind the scene as well as the similarities and differences between Chinese and Western educational concepts.

Tang Yuqing and Sang Qiyue from Shanghai Vanke Bilingual School, and Wang Siwei from Pudong Vanke School all made their debut on the Tedxkids stage. They may not be professional speakers, but their unrestrained thoughts and passion for continuous exploration about the world surely served as inspiration for all who were present.
