February 1, 7:30 pm GREASE – Musical production at The British International School, Pudong The original 1972 production of Grease by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey has been adapted by the Pudong Expressive Arts team and will take to the stage with an 80+ student cast for three nights. The musical set at fictional Rydell High School (or, in this case Pudong High School), follows ten working-class teenagers as they navigate the complexities of love, cars, and drive-ins. The score attempts to recreate the sounds of early rock and roll and includes all the well-known favourites: "Summer Nights", "Freddy, My Love", "Greased Lightnin”, "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee", "Beauty School Dropout", to name but a few. This school version of the musical alludes to much of the sentiment from the original movie, but not all of the content. Tickets for the show are priced at 60RMB for adults and 40RMB for juniors; available from the Reception in the Secondary building at The British International School.
