tis-harriTianjin International School (TIS) is delighted to welcome new Head Principal, Mr. Raul Harri. Mr. Harri was born in Papua New Guinea and moved to Australia when he was 12 years old. He attended and graduated from an international high school in India before returning to Australia for university. He brings to TIS over 2 decades of experience in education, the last 13 years of which have been in China. His bilingual and multicultural background means he brings experience, understanding and expertise to the international campus. Mr. Harri understands the benefits and challenges of the TCK (Third Culture Kid) experience and is able to help families and students alike as they navigate this exciting expat life.

“Regardless of culture, belief systems, and experiences everyone has the potential to achieve wonderful things at TIS and I also want the expat community to feel welcome at TIS. With my multicultural background I believe I can add to the international dimension at TIS in a unique way”. He also believes that the fine arts are like an international language and with his experience as a drama director he wants to continue to build on TIS’s reputation for fine arts. He goes on to say, “While TIS does a great job of preparing students for college/university, I want to ensure our students are also being prepared for life. Developing well-rounded, balanced students who have the life skills needed to be world-changes is part of our ethos, and my passion.”

Mr. Harri welcomes anyone in the international community to come and see for themselves how exciting and embracing life at TIS is.
