tiny-tots-fire-awareness-newsThe week of 8-14 October was the National Fire Prevention Week in the United States, a public initiative started back in 1922 to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire on 9 October 1871 that destroyed much of the city.

Today, more than 140 years later, knowing what to do in the event of a fire is still very important. Practice and preparation ensure that everyone knows how to respond calmly and effectively and get to safety quickly.

In recognition of the National Fire Prevention Week, Tiny Tots International Pre-School and Kindergarten conducted a Fire Awareness Week to teach students about fire safety, awareness and prevention. The entire school and staff got involved in a surprise fire drill exercise and students participated in a Fire Rescue Challenge where they got an opportunity to be a fire fighter.
