Space Engineering Summer Camp at BIBA

Ages: Grades 6 to 9

Dates: June 30-July 18

This camp is suitable for students with strong math & science skills who are looking to explore space engineering; building, programming and testing in a fun and interesting way. Students will have the chance to learn the history of the moon, build prototype robots, program these robots in order to create a topographic map and follow the map to accomplish the mission, which is to search for lunar ice. Working in a dynamic team environment, each student will engage in decisions making, planning and project management. Dr. Susan from NASA has trained the lead teacher and he in turn has two years’ experience running this course in the United States. He will be running this course for the first time in Beijing. An activity at the end of the course will be organized to showcase the projects for family and friends.

The Learning Center Summer Camp 

Ages: Grades 1 to 10

Dates: July 14-August 22

The Learning Center, Beijing’s only American-operated tutoring center, has provided comprehensive academic summer courses in Beijing since 2004. TLC Summer Camp is now in its 11th year and offers a wide variety of exciting academic programs for native English speakers and second language speakers alike. Some of the programs this year include science programs such as CSI, Chemistry, Physics, The Solar System and Space, Archaeology and Back to School Math as well as a whole host of language arts programs including Public Speaking, Creative Writing, Reading Foundations and many more. TLC also assists with placing students in camps overseas. Dulwich Beijing Summer Camps 2014

Dates: June 23-August 8

Football World Cup Summer Camp & FUN at the pool at Dulwich Legend Garden Campus 

Ages: 5-7 years; 8-10 years, and 10+ years

This camp includes Mini World Cup, Football Quiz BBQ and Awards, skill-based games, match related drills and pool time.

Science, History, and English Camp at Dulwich Riviera Main Campus

Ages: 7-8 years, 9-10 years, and 11-12 years

These camps are developed and delivered by The Learning Center whose teachers are recruited from Canada, the US, Ireland, England and Australia. The programs are designed to provide engaging courses for international school students with excellent English skills or for second language speakers who may be considering transitioning to an international school in the future. Students may join half-day or full-day enrichment camps (science, history and more) that cover topics like CSI (Crime Scene Investigation), Digging up Dinosaurs, and Ancient Rome, or they may join Back to School ESL Courses for beginning and intermediate levels. These courses focus on developing reading and communication skills so that English, science, history, and math content become more accessible to ESL students.

Junior Tennis Camp at Dulwich Riviera Main Campus

Ages: 4-7 years, 7-9 years, and 9-12 years

At Junior Tennis Camp children will learn tennis skills through various fun games. The camp will cover intro to tennis and basic skills, forehand, backhand, volleys, serve and return.

Chinese and Sports Camp at Dulwich Legend Garden Campus

Ages: 5-8 years; 9-13 years

This Camp is provided by Neighborhood Talent International Education Center. Children will improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing in Chinese from beginners and up. In addition, children will learn about Chinese Classical Literature as well as engage in rich and colorful sports activities.

Mini Rugby Camp at Dulwich Legend Garden Campus

Ages: 3-4 years

Mini Rugby introduces boys and girls to rugby in a fun and safe manner. In Mini Rugby, children will be encouraged to move from parent-supported participation to active, independent interaction.

Explorer Camp: Science and Arts/Aerospace at Dulwich Riviera Main Campus

Ages: 5-8 years; 9-12 years

This camp gives children the opportunity to extend their scientific enquiry and questioning through fun experiments. Each session will focus on a hands-on project that the children can take home with them.

Dance Camp at Dulwich Riviera Main campus

Ages: 4-7 years

This camp will allow children to focus on movement and music by including ballet and modern dance.  Children will learn body awareness, improve motor skills and continue developing a love for dance and music with a focus on free movement expression. Well-known ballet instructor Mrs. Shi Yuzhong heads this class. She has taught ballet at Dulwich for many years.

 

AEA Beijing Summer Camp at BCIS and BSB

Ages: 4-12 years

Dates: June 16-July 4; July 7-August 15 (6 weeks)

Locations: Beijing City International School (June 16-July 4); The British School of Beijing, Shunyi (July 7-August 15)

The American Employees Association (AEA) of the US Embassy in Beijing has organized an annual Summer Camp since 1997 for the children of diplomatic staff, expatriates and local Chinese. AEA Summer Camp provides daily youth leadership programs that enrich the lives of youth and nurture the individual in order to create a lasting impact and cherished lifelong memories. The programs will be 100% carried out by USA Camp Counselors.

Daily activities will be divided into 45-60-minute blocks. Mornings usually contain large group activities, outdoor sports and small group interest clubs, followed by lunch. Afternoons feature daily swimming, rock climbing and small group interest clubs.

CISB Summer Enrichment & Enhancement Camp programs are designed to provide a very comprehensive and balanced curriculum for all students. This program merges English, Chinese and French language classes, field trips, cultural activities and sports, allowing students to improve their language skills while enjoying their summer holidays. CISB culture and language classes focus on speaking, listening, reading, writing, building vocabulary, learning characters and pronunciation. Participants will be assigned to different English/Chinese/French levels based upon assessment.

Cost: 7,500 RMB to 21,500 RMB (Enrichment program for 2 to 6 weeks); 9,750 RMB to 29,500 RMB (Enhancement program for 3 to 6 weeks)
