Students Shine on Stage at Britannica’s Got Talent Competition

Britannica International School, Shanghai recently hosted its annual talent competition, Britannica’s Got Talent.

The school celebrated the amazing abilities of students, as Britannica’s pupils performed a variety of acts before a live audience of friends, families and a panel of guest judges. The students did not disappoint, giving stunning displays of their many talents, and pupils of all ages took the stage in the school theatre, while guests were treated to some great entertainment.

britannicas-got-talentBritannica’s Got Talent 2017 featured four categories; Dance, Solo Performance, Miscellaneous and Group Performance. The night saw students give modern, traditional and even Taekwondo dances. Pupils sang and played the piano, violin, and flute during their Solo performances. Acts of Kung Fu, Comedy, Magic and even Chinese art painting wowed the crowd, along with group performances of piano duets, singing and playing the Ocarina, and two of Britannica’s student bands.

This year, the panel of judges included: David Goodwin, Principal of Britannica International School, Shanghai, Xiaoxiao Jiang, General Manager of Jingkids Shanghai, Denise Minnifield, Singer and veteran of the Shanghai music scene and Andrew Bull, ‘The man who introduced the 12-inch single to Asia’. While the judges made deliberation and decided on the winners in each category, the crowd was treated to a fantastic singing performance by Britannica’s very own Music Teacher, Leah Churchill.

This was a fantastic night of entertainment, organized by Britannica’s Music department, led by Estelle Owens – Director of Music and Expressive Arts and supported by Britannica’s teaching team. Britannica International School, Shanghai thanks all who auditioned, took part, contributed, came to watch or supported Britannica’s Got Talent 2017 in any way. Congratulations to the winners and all the contestants for a wonderful evening.
