SSIS Welcomes New Senior School Principal and Director of Operations

ssis-senior-school-principal-andrew-crouseAndrew Crouse has just taken flight as the new Senior School Principal of Shanghai Singapore International School since the first school day of Academic Year 2013/2014.
Crouse received his Master’s and Doctoral degrees from the University of Washington. Starting his teaching career twenty years ago in the small island nation of Fiji, Dr. Crouse has successively taught in Sigatoka Methodist High School, Brandeis University, Colegio Internacional de CaracasUniversity of Washington and the Stonehill International School in the South Indian city of Bangalore, but he says he enjoys the middle and high school levels the most.
The new Principal said he was honored to join the vibrant SSIS community and enjoys being able to interact with the students and hear about why they love SSIS. “I enjoy immersing myself in new cultures and languages and am fascinated by history. I dabble in a variety of musical instruments, and can occasionally be found hiking, swimming, or sailing. It is with great optimism and enthusiasm that I join the SSIS community with my wife Nicole and daughters Ava and Anna.”
In the Academic Year of 2013/2014, Shanghai Singapore International School also welcomes the new Director of Operations, Steve Augeri.ssis-director-of-operations-steve-augeriOver the course of his 14 years as an educator, Augeri has worked in the United States, Bangladesh, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and now China. This is his tenth year of living and working internationally and he is always amazed by the sense of renewal he feels when relocating to a new country and a new school. Augeri said he was very happy to be joining the team at SSIS as Director of Operations, where his goal will be to help support the teachers in the great work that they do with the students. 
“A history teacher at heart, I hope to be able to delve more deeply into Chinese history and culture now that I am a resident of Shanghai.”
