Shanghai Singapore International School (SSIS) welcomed Mr. Trevor Lai, an award-winning author and illustrator, to SSIS MinHang Campus on April 9th 2012.

Trevor is an acclaimed motivational speaker who has presented to students at international and local schools in China as well as across North America. “Kerry Kangaroo”, one of the most popular children’s mascots in Shanghai, and “Peter Bear”, the character featured at the Peninsular Hotel, are some of Trevor’s renowned works.

During his visit, Trevor conducted a storytelling session based on his newest book, “Peter Bear at Peninsula”, provided a live demonstration of how drawings were done and presented some of his creations from the age of 17 until present. A “Meet and Greet” session with the author also took place during the school recess.

SSIS hopes that this event became a powerful motivational literary experience for our students.
