ssis-p6-spring-excursionThe P6 students at Shanghai Singapore International School, accompanied by 12 teachers, went to Jiande city for 3 days and 2 nights for their spring excursion. Jiande city, affiliated to Hangzhou city, is located in the west of Zhejiang Province.

The first activity was dragon boating along the Xin An River. It was a first time experience for all the students to row in a dragon boat and they had great fun. Even the teachers who sat at the helm of the boat beating the drum had a fun time.

The students visited Xin’anjiang Hydropower Station. During this visit, they got to see what they learned in Science about how electricity is generated using running water, with the help of turbines and generators.

The highlight on the second day was the exchange program with Yang Xi Primary School. The activities included floor hockey, ‘cross the river’ game, rope skipping and Chinese calligraphy. Before they left the school, there was a gift exchange between the SSIS students and the Yang Xi Primary School students.

The trip ended with a hike at Da Ci Rock on the last day. The hike was tiring, but their hard work paid off when they reached the peak and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

This trip brought a lot of fun and laughter to the students and teachers.
