giving-tree-2014-at-shanghai-singapore-international-schoolOn Friday 21 November, students, teachers and parents from Shanghai Singapore International School Xuhui and Minhang Campuses visited the Plum Forest School in Pudong to distribute over 650 Giving Tree bags to the migrant students who attend that school. The afternoon started with a ceremony that included dance performances by students from both schools, speeches and singing of the Giving Tree song. After the ceremony, SSIS students distributed the bags to each classroom and helped the students open their gifts. The migrant children were very excited with the toys, jackets, books, and stationery that they received. As a new part of the programme, SSIS also filled over 30 bags for the migrant school teachers. They were also extremely appreciative of these gifts.

Shanghai Singapore International School would like to thank all families who filled a bag or donated money to this worthwhile charity; SSIS was able to make a small difference in the lives of these children this winter season.
