ssis-holiday-seasonOn 6 and 7 December, Shanghai Singapore International School’s performers and SSIS Orchestra were invited to bring the joy of the holiday season to the patrons of Shanghai Marriott Hotel Luwan and Renaissance Shanghai Yu Garden Hotel. A great repertoire was lined up for each performance and the student performers were very excited.

Dr. Harold Good, SSIS Head of Performing Arts was in charge of organizing these two performances. Dr. Good is a graduate of Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, New Jersey. He is a classically trained opera singer who has performed numerous roles throughout his career. Additionally, he has performed with many performance companies including the Rome Festival, Opera Festival of New Jersey, Ash Lawn-Highland Summer Festival, and Cygnus Contemporary Dance Company. He has been a music educator for 11 years and has directed, produced and choreographed several musical productions.

Elaine Yang of the PR department of Shanghai Marriott Hotel spoke very highly of the performances, using words such as “great, talented and wonderful” to describe the student performers. The performances were also appreciated by various hotel patrons at the hotels, adding that these performances certainly helped get them into the holiday mood!
