SSIS Appoints New School Counselor

Douglas Wayne Willard is the newly appointed University and Personal Counselor at Shanghai Singapore International School (SSIS).

Douglas received a B.A. in History and Geography in Canada and a Masters in Counseling in the US. He has two children who are now studying at Shanghai Singapore International School and another two who have already graduated from high school. Douglas is a Canadian who has worked overseas for seventeen years in four different international schools. Two of the international schools had a similar mix of students to Shanghai Singapore International School.

He has held the positions of Head of Counseling and College Counselor. His past experiences have mainly been assisting students to matriculate to colleges and universities in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, Asia and many other countries around the world.

Besides providing counseling services to students and teachers, Douglas has also taught subjects such as Geography, Economics, English Language, Social Studies and Health and Social Education.

“I will be able to provide support and guidance to our students and parents. I look forward to opportunities to work together with my colleagues and students at SSIS,” said Douglas.
