ssis-tan-thong-howeShanghai Singapore International School is glad to announce that Tan Thong Howe to be the new Assistant Principal of SSIS Xuhui Campus.

Mr Tan is from Singapore and arrived in Shanghai shortly after the Chinese New year.

Before joining SSIS, he was with the Ministry of Education, Singapore for over 13 years. During that period, he played the roles of a Beginning Teacher, Head of Department and then Vice-Principal.

One of the major projects he was heavily involved in was the conceptualization and implementation of integrating sports development with character development among Primary School students. There is tremendous potential and power in using sports as a medium to inculcate values among students.

“Being a firm believer and practitioner of education, I am delighted and proud to be part of SSIS’s administrator team as we seek to chart the next lap of school development. My school leadership experience will further enhance and enrich the already vast expertise currently existing among the staff of SSIS,” Tan said of his prospects for his new experience at SSIS.

His two lovely children, Luvyna and Whelan, will be joining SSIS in the new academic year when they enroll in the pre-school program.
