As another incredible exhibition arrived in Shanghai – “Illusionary Reality, 2012 Miro Print Exhibition” by surrealist Joan Miro (1893-1983) – who was once declared “an assassination of painting,” Shanghai Rego International School Spanish Mother Tongue students decided to go on a trip there to learn more Miro’s work and life, and at the same time make use of the mother tongue language during the trip, and enjoy a wonderful Spanish lunch together.

The day started with fantastic presentations from all the students about Miro’s life and work. Students explained through a video presentation and reflected upon a different period of his work and life.

After that, they went to the Museum of Contemporary Art where Miro’s Exhibition was held. Nearly 170 prints covering around five decades of the Catalan painter’s work are exhibited there. While viewing the exhibition, students took notes and drew great surrealistic pictures.

Finally, the group arrived at La Finca where they enjoyed great tapas, and again proper Paella! The food and service was excellent. Thanks to La Finca! SRIS students behaved very well and really enjoyed this amazing lunch.

Now, everyone is looking forward to keep working hard in class and perhaps we will go on a trip at the end of this term!
