Shanghai Livingston American School (SLAS) held its annual International Festival on 22 May, focusing on the school’s Core Values and Go Green this year.

livingston-intl-dayThe students designed a ‘Core Values’ booth that displayed examples of the four SLAS Core Values: Proficient Communicator, Confident Individual, Compassionate Citizen, and Creative Thinker. Students also designed booths representing eleven countries from around the World. Each country booth taught visitors about the history, culture, and demographics of each country. There were also exhibits on music and art where students were able to display some of the fantastic, creative works from their art classes. There were plenty of games to play, each focusing on improving our environment through recycling.

In addition to a lot of fun educational activities, there were a variety of foods from all corners of the globe: Mexican, Japanese, Korean, Indian, and American cuisines were among the dishes served.

SLAS’s PTSA and students provided plenty of great entertainment, too. Students performed international dances, singing, recitals, and more. The PTSA held a raffle with many exciting prizes including iWatches, iPads, and over 30 other prizes. It was a fun-filled day that students, parents, and teachers were sure to remember for a long time.
