The Pudong campus of Shanghai Community International School has kicked off the 2010-2011 school year with a record amount of enrollment growth and several new faces.

In August, SCIS Pudong welcomed over 150 new students to the school community, and thus expanded it’s nationality profile to over 40 different countries represented within the student body. This growth in student numbers was complimented by an expansion in community partnerships, as the Orange Dragon Dutch School and the Essential Learning Group both introduced programs on the Pudong Lower School campus.

SCIS Head of School Ryan Blanton stated, “We are extremely pleased to be expanding the range of services available to our school community, both through numerous native tongue language academies and a variety of special services provided by the Essential Learning Group.”

SCIS Pudong also added twelve new teachers to the school faculty for the 2010 - 2011 school year. These individuals are Lindsey Mitchell (Grade 1), Sylvie Collette (Grade 5), Alisa Meinz (Pre School), Maera Palma (Toddlers), Vanessa Jacques (Toddlers and ESOL), John Meinz (Middle School), Amy Clark (Mandarin), Connie Tang (Mandarin), Rob Critcher (Middle School), Daniel Moraga (ESOL), Jason Collette (Science), and Luis Murillo (Counselor). This group of new teachers represents five different nationalities and over 80 years of teaching experience.
