The Shanghai Community International School (SCIS) Job-Shadow Experience for Grade 10 students will run from Monday to Friday, 21-25 May 2018. This is a pilot program for a select group of 10 students based on an application, teacher evaluation and committee vote. The student will represent SCIS Hongqiao within the Shanghai corporate, creative and entrepreneurial workforce. The school has vetted many companies to find the most exciting and educational placement for the students (NIKE, IKEA, IMAX, BBDO and more). Students will apply for specific approved companies and the school will match the most qualified student to the appropriate experience.

“The goal is for this job-shadow experience to be a win-win for both the student and the company. Working a 40-hour work-week, students will gain knowledge within a particular profession and perhaps have their passion ignited. Supervisors will also have a fresh and youthful perspective on their product, business and competition. Knowledge will pass from both parties, with the potential for a long-term internship experience. My goal is for this program to become an expectation for all students at SCIS,” says Emily C. Blalock, Upper School Counselor & College Counselor, SCIS Hongqiao Campus.
