scis-hq-carnivalOn Saturday, May 19th, Shanghai Community International School hosted the End-Of-Year Carnival on its Hongqiao campus.

Parents, students and teachers enjoyed the different activities in the theatre, gym, cafeteria and the courtyard. The Fine Arts department showcased their talent and creative work with a digital photography and ceramics exhibition, a film festival, dance performances, and musical performances featuring the selected strings ensemble, the Shanghai Community Band and the selected choir, Bella Voce.

There were many attractions on the day, but the “royal flush” had to be the students’ number one pick, where they got to soak their favorite teachers under the dunking machine – it was payback time. The bouncy castle, pirate ship, mechanical bull and surfboard were, as always, really popular with the little ones. Many tried out their Sumo wrestler skills and honed their skills on the sling shot, taking pot shots at the Angry Birds. Little and big kids alike got creative with face painting, nail polish and temporary tattoos. Great food, fun and friendship all round – it’s amazing how a great community is always ready to get together!
