Shanghai American School (SAS) is proud to be hosting a prestigious international band festival from January 28-30, 2010 at its Pudong Campus.

The Asian Middle Schools AMIS Honor Band Festival is a worldwide auditioned band performing at a very high level. The Association for Music in International Schools (AMIS) is dedicated to the promotion of excellence at all levels of music education. AMIS sponsors a variety of music festivals annually which are especially designed to benefit students in international schools in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Students and teachers from all over the world are welcome as participants.

The SAS Pudong Campus Honor Band will be conducted by Peter Lutkoski who is the Head of Performing Arts at The American School in London. Last year’s middle school AMIS honor band festival was held in Manila. SAS middle school had six students who passed the audition process and were accepted as members. The Pudong campus MS musicians will be auditioning again this year for the honor band.

The visiting international band members will be housed by SAS Pudong middle school families.
