SAS Students Enjoy China Alive

Each year, Shanghai American School (SAS) students in grades 6 to 10 participate in various trips all over China. These trips are known to the SAS community as ‘China Alive.’

Some trips are more adventurous, while others are more cultural, but each trip is designed to help students connect with various parts of China through a non-classroom environment.

Among other opportunities, China Alive provides students with a chance to spend a solid week practicing the Mandarin skills that they have been refining in the classroom throughout their years at SAS. Trip highlights for each student are different. For some students it’s the hiking and overnight train ride, for others it‘s waterfalls and water fights. And for others still it is simply meeting friends and getting to know people better. One thing is certain – each trip is unique and each student has the opportunity to create lasting memories to bring back home and share with their families, friends and the SAS community.
