Outstanding IGCSE Achievement at SSIS

ssis-igcse-news-1The Shanghai Singapore International School (SSIS) IGCSE class of 2016 celebrated their outstanding exam results in a ceremony held at the Minhang Campus. Students, teachers and family members gathered for the celebration organized by IGCSE coordinator Steven Gaynor. “We have a diverse student body and our results show that all students can be academically successful at SSIS,” said Gaynor. “In addition, 43 students were entered for the internationally recognized Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exams.”

Here are some notable results: Almost 50% of our students entered for the ICE Group Award received a Distinction; 80% of students were awarded a Merit ICE Group Award or higher; 83% of grades were awarded A*-C; 41% of our grades were awarded A/A*; and 14 students achieved 7 IGCSE’s at A grade or higher.

The IGCSE Class of 2016 have set a high standard for future IGCSE student to strive for. They are well prepared for future success in the IB Diploma Program. Such high academic results set SSIS students on the right path to continue their education in the best universities around the world. Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds. It is recognized by leading universities and employers worldwide, and is an international passport to progression and success.
