Outstanding 2017 IGCSE Results at SSIS

Last May Shanghai Singapore International School (SSIS) 2017 cohort of Grade 10 IGCSE students sat the internationally recognized and rigorous IGCSE curriculum examinations. Their dedication, hard work, mind set and time management skills were apparent to all teachers as they diligently revised for the end of the two-year IGCSE program. 

ssis-news-igcse-results-andrew-bulla-1The results were recently released and notable highlights were: Almost 40% of the students entered for the ICE Group Award received a Distinction. Some 85% of students achieved a Merit Award Group Award or higher. Around 85% of grades were awarded A*, A, B or C, and 35% of subject entries were awarded A or A*. 

All G11 students that re-sat international Math achieved a grade which will benefit their university applications. Also, 8 students achieved 7 IGCSE’s at A grade or higher. The highest individual performance was 10 A*’s by Andrew Bulla, the first SSIS student to be awarded 10 IGCSE’s all at A* grade. 

SSIS has a diverse student body and the school looks to enter all students for the IGCSE examinations. The results show that all the students can be academically successful at SSIS. This IGCSE class of 2017 are extremely well prepared for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) in Grade 11 this year.
