mss-visit-insect-museumDuring the first week of November, students from the Montessori School of Shanghai (MSS), Xuhui Campus went on a trip to the Insect Museum. It was a great experience for both children and teachers. To their surprise, there were more than just insects: from turtles and goats, to butterflies and snakes.

They had a great time observing the creatures around them. Children counted how many fish they could find and took notice of the different types of turtles. They also identified small, medium, and large turtles and bugs. At the end of their tour, the children had an opportunity to see a special show.

As Maria Montessori says: “A child, more than anyone else, is a spontaneous observer of nature.” It is always fun to spend time exploring the world around us.
