Sustainable development seems to be the keyword for this school year at the Lycée Français de Shanghai (The French School of Shanghai).

LFS contributes to the Million Tree Project (www.mtpchina.org), a program of the Shanghai Roots & Shoots association, to encourage individuals to minimize their negative environmental impact by polluting less and improve their positive environmental impact by planting trees in the lands of China suffering from desertification. At the end of September, the French school donated 9000RMB to Shanghai Roots & Shoots. The money was raised from selling “écolosac”, an eco-friendly reusable bag designed by the students of the school. The proceeds will be used to plant 360 trees in Inner Mongolia in April 2011.

In addressing global issues, every contribution, even the smallest one, makes a difference. That is why the Lycée Français de Shanghai is proud to support initiatives, like this one, aimed at making the world a better place.
