Education/ Curriculum Based on the American Core Curriculum (American-based standards and benchmarks). The school-wide curriculum is developed and regularly revised by faculty groups based on the international best practices and current research in education. Advanced Placement courses and the Full IB Diploma program are offered at High School.

Languages Taught SAS offers 11 levels of Chinese from introductory programs to advanced literacy programs. Mandarin is taught daily for PreK-Gr 5. Gr. 6 and above will have the options to choose between Mandarin, French or Spanish.

After-school Activities A variety of competitive sports. Teams compete in the Asia Pacific Activities Conference, the China International Schools Sports Association and the Association of China and Mongolia In- ternational Schools. Also an extensive range of non-sport activities ranging from cooking to jazz band, rock climbing to model UN, chess club to show choir, and so on. No additional fees.
School Facilities The 29-acre Puxi campus and the 22-acre Pudong campus have buildings for elementary, mid- dle and high school students. Both campuses have integrated technologies in all classrooms, 6 state-of-the-art media libraries with 120,000 English volumes, fully resourced science labs, performing and visual arts spaces, indoor aquatics centers, multiple gyms and fitness rooms, and outdoor athletic facilities including basketball courts, baseball fields, soccer pitches and running tracks. Two dedicated computer centers with full-time staffs supporting the school's 1-to-1 laptop program from Gr 6 and above.
School Nurse or Healthcare Each school has its own nurse office. Fully-qualified nurses work on rotation during regular school hours and for after-school programs and events.
School Bus Transportation to and from each campus is provided for a fee; after-school activities buses are free.
