Ivy Art Ivy Academy held its 4th Annual Art Exhibition at East Lake’s Suzhou Gardens on a beautiful afternoon in May. The children’s paintings, drawings and sculptures were on display for all families to admire while teachers, parents and artists organized workshops such as jewelry making, landscape painting and pottery.

The children’s art work that was presented not only showed their growing understanding of color, space and proportion but it was representative of the children’s growing artistic talents and their simple love of making art. Their sculptures of circuses, animals and acrobats in materials such as fabric, wire, wood and clay were inspired by the work of Alexander Calder and Pablo Picasso.

Ivy Academy puts a great deal of thought and work in helping children learn about the world they live in through art. Ivy children learn to experiment, observe and talk about what they see, feel and create.

Throughout the school year, children played with various techniques and materials, they looked at work by great masters and visited art shows in different museums and galleries in Beijing.
