isb-david-munroDavid Munro joins the International School of Beijing as High School Principal for the 2015-16 school year. Originally from Canada, Munro moved to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he was Secondary School Assistant Principal at Mont’ Kiara International School. He joined Mont’ Kiara in 2007, teaching High School IB History and TOK for three years before being named IB Program Coordinator/CAS Coordinator in 2010, then being promoted to his Assistant Principal role in 2011.

Prior to Mont’ Kiara, he worked in Lima, Peru for seven years at Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He taught Middle School Humanities for three years, was High School History/CAS Coordinator for four years, and in his final year in Lima was also High School Dean of Students. He has also taught in Venezuela. Munro’s educational credentials include a Master’s in Secondary Education from the University of Alabama, a B.Ed. in Social Studies (minor in Phys Ed) from the University of Alberta, and certification in International Education Leadership from the Principal’s Training Center.

isb-jon-hill-ms-principalJon Hill joins the International School of Beijing as Middle School Principal. Originally from the United States, Hill moved to Beijing from Seoul, South Korea where he was Middle School Assistant Principal at Seoul Foreign School. Prior to becoming Assistant Principal, he was the Middle School Technology Coordinator (2007-2010) and 7th Grade Science and Mathematics Teacher (2004-2007).

His educational credentials include a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University; Master of Science (M.S.) in Oceanography from Oregon State University; Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Science Education from Oregon State University; and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology from Oregon State University.

isb-simon-parkerHailing from the UK, Simon Parker returns to International School of Beijing as the Director of Activities for the 2015-16 school year. Parker was at ISB from 2011-2014 as Assistant Activities Director, and this past school year he has been in Yokohama, Japan as Activities Director for Yokohama International School. Prior to ISB, he was Athletic/Activities Director at Senri/Osaka International School for 8 years, from 2003 to 2011. Before his career in administration, he taught PE and coached football for seven years in Japan and the UK. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from the University of Warwick, UK.

isb-tina-hermanTina Herman joins International School of Beijing as Director of Admissions for the 2015-16 school year. Originally from the US, Herman has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physical Education from State University of New York, College at Cortland, and a Master of Arts (MA) in Curriculum and Teaching from the Teachers College at Columbia University. She has over 20 years of experience in education, beginning as a PE teacher and onto Director of Student Life and Director of Admissions. She comes to ISB from The International School of Luxembourg, where she was Head of Admissions.

isb-mark-hardemanMark Hardeman has been appointed Deputy Head of School at International School of Beijing after serving three years as Middle School Principal. Originally from Canada, Hardeman received his Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Education at the University of Windsor, a Master of Education at the University of Wollongong, and is currently working towards his Doctor of Education with Lehigh University. Prior to working at ISB, he worked in the UAE, Kuwait and Canada.
