To further strengthen their academic leadership, House of Knowledge (HoK) has appointed Doris Hanna, M. Ed., as Principal overseeing all academic operations.

With over 20 years of experience in international school leadership and curriculum development, Doris brings a wealth of experience to the campuses in Shunyi and Chaoyang Districts.

hok-doris-hanna-new-principalDoris is excited to be in China and learn about the country, the people and the culture. “Having lead very large schools before, I enjoy the family feeling at our two campuses and how closely we work with parents. That is certainly a culture I want to maintain as we grow House of Knowledge,” she said.

Doris is a true educator. Starting as an English language teacher in Elementary and Middle Schools, she earned her Masters Degree in Education at the University of Phoenix, Arizona, specializing in Curriculum Design and Instruction. She held academic leadership positions at the British School in Cairo and at Sharm el Sheikh College, a multilingual school recognized by the German government. She further worked as a teacher trainer with Collins Education where she trained teachers across the Middle East in modern teaching methodologies.

Coming from a bi-national family, Doris understands the challenges of learning and teaching in a bilingual environment. At HoK, she will especially focus on growing the Elementary school program and further improving academic standards and assessments.

“Given the rapid technological advancement that is taking place in the world, International/bilingual education is not an option; it is mandatory, for young people to be able to manage all the fluctuations and challenges that is and will be sprung on them in the near future,” she said.
