hqis-new-campusFor nearly twenty years, Hong Qiao International School (HQIS) has been known as Rainbow Bridge and has been located at the Shanghai Zoo. For February 2015, HQIS is proud to announce the opening of its purpose-built campus in the heart of Hong Qiao along Yili Road in Gubei.

HQIS has modified its English name to represent a new beginning, at its new location along with a re-commitment to world-class education for students in Nursery through Middle School (with a High School planned for August 2016).

The new HQIS Gubei Campus houses a 400-seat theater, design and science laboratories, indoor gym, a 25m pool, rooftop and vertical gardens, and a range of other facilities. The entire campus will have wireless Internet, managed air and water quality in every classroom, and will host a recycling center. Even the mascot has changed: HQIS students are now known as the Owls!

The school’s new facilities will support the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, as well as a Middle School (and High School eventually). Science, technology, engineering, the arts, and maths (STEAM) will be a focus, and English and Mandarin instruction will remain steadfast. The HQIS community is ready for the move, and welcomes visitors to tour its wonderful new facility.
