On November 12, Golden Wings International Kindergarten brought their preschool and kindergarten class to Beijing’s Locomotive Museum to explore many different types of locomotives that have been used throughout history to the present day.gwis-train-s

The students were amazed by the size and capacity of the locomotives. A representative of the museum gave them all a guided tour explaining the differences between a steam engine and the locomotives used nowadays that are run by electricity. The students have been fascinated by locomotives especially since one of their favorite T.V. shows is Thomas the Tank Engine. They were finally able to see a life size locomotive and explore what it looks like from the inside. Different types of transportation are used daily in China and the children had a wonderful time experiencing locomotive transportation first hand; they were even allowed to step inside a subway car.

“Giving our children an opportunity to see one of the many facets of China’s daily life extends their understanding of the world around them and we are thankful to Beijing’s Locomotive Museum for providing our students with this insightful opportunity,” says Linda Zou, Headmistress of Golden wings International Kindergarten.
