fable 2

Fable 2

This much anticipated role playing epic from Lionhead and celebrated designer Peter Molyneux will be out by the time you read this, but it’s well worth looking up. It takes place in the world of Albion, and since we’re on the topic of global citizenship, note that Fable 2 has players venture all over the realm. The game follows characters from childhood all the way to the most adult of choices, and even includes social interaction such as marriage and your own ever-loyal dog companion. Keep in mind Fable 2 does have very mature themes, and so we recommend it for gamers 16 or older – for them, this is a rich, enticing and rewarding experience.

Shaun White Snowboarding

This release covers two major points for us. One, it’s a wintery game, getting us in the mood for the cold season and for some air action on the snowboarding slopes. Second, it takes place in several of the most challenging snowboarding locations around the globe, with a plethora of tricks and styles to cover, all under the watchful goggled eye of celebrity board authority Shaun White. There are extensive online facilities to look forward to, as well as the promise of really large areas to explore and make the most of. Gear up!

Tomb Raider: Underworld

One global citizen everyone loves is old Lara Croft. Well, not really old – she’s still looking ravishing over a decade later, and is just about ready to go on an adventure that’ll re-ignite interest in her never ending escapades. This time Lara’s really taking it on the road, from Thailand to the Arctic circle, Mexico and other locations – the action non-stop, the presentation absorbing, and the fun, well, of Croftian proportions. Rumor has it Underworld represents a return to the archaeological hijinx that established Lara in the first place, and even the cover art looks more like the lady than ever before. Keep this one in mind!

Sonic Unleashed

Speaking of around the world in a jiffy, few can match the speed of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega’s trusty mascot and another up and coming returnee to the wonderful world of gaming. In his Unleashed adventure, Sonic is redefining his own experience with the most advanced graphics ever in the series, shifting perspectives, locales that are more detailed and challenging than anything previously seen in a Sonic game, and even more unbelievable moves from the master of unbelievable moves – such as the Quick Step and Speed Drift. Sounds good? You betcha.
