IAB English Language Summer School

  The International Academy of Beijing (IAB) summer school targets children between the ages of 6 and 14. There will be 12 undergraduates from Abilene University, USA, together with IAB teachers, teaching at classes that have a maximum of 12 students each. A speech pathology major will work with small groups of students on a weekly basis to help with pronunciation and diction. Each class will have PE, art and music once each week to give students a chance to learn school vocabulary related to each of these subjects. In addition, at least one field trip will be taken.

  To take part in the school, all students much undergo the test scheduled on June 26.

The BISS Summer Camp 2009

   A unique mix of language classes (Chinese and English), field trips and sports activities will be offered to children of 

4 to 14 years old. The camp is designed to dynamically combine activities and language learning through real- life language experience. It will allow students to perfect the language skills they have learned during the year, as well as to build upon these skills in an experiential learning environment. Real life skills will include psycho-motor development, problem-solving, and leadership development which will benefit each student in his or her continuing education.

Themed Summer Camp for Kids

  The Children’s House Montessori Kindergarten plans a series of interesting and educational activities for children aged from 1.5 to 6 years old. Each of the six weeks of the camp focuses on one theme, such as Under the Sea; Cars, Boats, Planes and Trains; Our Universe; Kids’ Café; Down on the Farm; and Dinosaurs.

Summer Camp at Neighborhood Chinese

  The camp run by Neighborhood Chinese Language School aims to improve Chinese listening, speaking, reading and writing for children aged 5 to 12 years old. Interesting folk art and sports activities, field trips, games and parties with Chinese local children, Chinese cooking class, Chinese chess class, and Taekwondo class will be offered, too.

CISB Summer Camp 2009

CISB_SummerCamp3   For children from 18 months to 6 years old, the Canadian International School of Beijing (CISB) will offer an English Play and Learn Program, which includes phonics/reading, creative English workshop, Chinese language/culture, arts and crafts, music, swimming and physical education.

Dates & times: June 22 to July 17 and July 20 to August 14; 9 am to 1 pm (half-day program) or 9 am to 4 pm (full-day program), Monday to Friday.

Fees: Half day: 4 weeks for RMB 6,800; 8 weeks for RMB 12,600. Full day: 4 weeks for RMB 10,800; 8 weeks for RMB 20,000.

  CISB will in the meantime provide a Language and Culture Program for students aged 6 to 17. The camp merges English language classes with Chinese language classes, field trips, and cultural and sporting activities, allowing students to improve their English & Chinese skills while enjoying their summer holidays.

Fees: 4 weeks for RMB 12,000; 8 weeks for RMB 20,800.

   Dulwich will be offering a range of camps this summer. The sports camps include football, golf, tennis, basketball, swimming, gymnastics and acrobatics.  Other workshops will include music, art, Reed Drama Camp, and Young Ones & Little Ones. YCIS Summer Putonghua Camps in Beijing and Xi’an

  Yew Chung International Summer School 2009 will bring students to Beijing and Xi’an this year, introducing them to an enjoyable and interactive learning experience. Teachers are all experienced in teaching Chinese as a second/ foreign language to children of different nationalities.

Ivy Childhood Carnival This Summer

   Childhood, a once-in-a-lifetime carnival, is the most blessed period of our lives. This summer, Ivy Childhood Carnival Summer Camp for 2 to 6 year olds will not only bring a special delight to your child’s life, but also give you an opportunity to relive your most precious memories.

Ten themed activities, each unique, fun-filled and exhilarating open a door through time and exhibit a vivid picture of what childhood looked like in Beijing in the old days. Activities include Tiaofangzi (hopscotch), Gunlunzi (hoop running), Dadanzi (pellet shot), Tiaojinzi (rubber-band jumping), and Taoquanzi (ringtoss). These games develop a child’s strength, speed, stamina, balance and reactions.

To make it more fun and memorable, this year’s summer camp will feature a Childhood Carnival at the end where you as parents will be invited to compete against your child in these games, and as a reward to every participant a puppet show by a professional folk culture troupe will be held in their honor!
