ycis-college-search-sDr. Rachelle Wolosoff visited the Yew Chung International School of Beijing this past spring. Dr. Wolosoff obtained a doctorate in educational leadership, and her passion is educating students about the different higher education opportunities available, specifically specializing in US university education.

Parents and students alike filled the classroom as Dr. Wolosoff presented on facts and myths about the US university admissions system. When looking at the numbers, the audience was shocked at some of the statistics related to admissions into elite US universities. The well-known Ivy League Schools saw applications of more than 30,000 and were only able to accept an incoming freshmen class of 2,000-4,000 students.

Instead of focusing on how to get into these universities, Dr. Wolosoff focused on what was the right school for the student. She said with over “4,000 universities in the US” that today students have a wide range of choices.

The overall message of Dr. Wolosoff was “to find a university that suits your (student) academic and personal requirements to make you successful in the future.”
