CISB G11 Field Trip to Hutong for Team Building
Canadian International School of Beijing (CISB) welcomed students into the IB Diploma Program (DP) with a day of team-building activities designed to encourage students to learn more about each other and themselves and build group cohesion in the DP.
Students started the day with a scavenger hunt that took students through the twisting alleys of the No.1 Jiu Dao Wan Zhong Xiang hutong. Working together in small groups, students navigated through various challenges that had them interacting with locals and immersing them in the Hutong lifestyle.
After racing through the scavenger hunt, CISB students participated in a series of improve activities to push students outside of their comfort zones while having fun.
For the third activity, students enjoyed a dumpling-making class led by a local Beijing chef. This culminated in a buffet style lunch with students getting a chance to eat their homemade dumplings along with locally prepared Chinese food.
The orientation wrapped up with awards presented to the winning groups from the scavenger hunt and an introduction to the IB Diploma Programme component of Creativity, Action, Service (CAS).
