britannca-sports-dayThe first ever Sports Day at Britannica International School Shanghai (Britannica) was held on Friday 9 May. The whole school took part in style.

The day started with a parade where teams got to show their colours and start some cheering, which was heard throughout. Students then went into groups to take part in the round robin activities that included long jump, throwing, sack races, egg and spoon races and the very popular water relays. Then they moved straight into the track events, where every student from KS1 to KS3 completed a 100m dash, KS2 and KS3 took part in the 200m event, and some selected students from each house did a 400m run and the 4×100m relays. The boys won the staff race convincingly this year and the day was wrapped up just before lunch with a few of tugs of war between houses.

A great day was had by all, but there can only be one winner, which was the Green Dragons! They were closely followed by the Blue Lions, Yellow Tigers and Red Phoenix. Most importantly, everyone had great fun participating in this first Sports Day.
