BISS Puxi Student Wins in HKYWA Competition

biss-puxi-qi-yi-choong-achieves-success-in-hkyw-competitionStudents at The British International School Shanghai, Puxi (BISS Puxi) have recently been completing narratives, descriptive pieces and even poetry for work that would be eligible in the competition for the Hong Kong Young Writers Awards (HKYWA) 2016. The theme this year was ‘Tales of the Terracotta Warriors’. Each participating school is allowed to submit only ten entries.

BISS Puxi was pleased to hear that Year 9 student Qi Yi’s piece was shortlisted from the thousands of entries HKYWA received this year. Her work will be published in the book the organizers will produce and she has also been invited to the awards ceremony in Hong Kong on 22 March.

The Hong Kong Young Writers Award is an annual event to encourage and recognize excellence in English writing and artwork among students of various age groups, diverse backgrounds and different learning abilities.
