biss-puxi-huaxin-sensory-workshopOn 19 January The British International School Shanghai, Puxi (BISS Puxi) hosted the second Sensory Workshop of the academic year for the children from the Huaxin Rehabilitation Centre. Twelve of BISS Puxi Key Stage 3 Students, assisted by four of the IB students, led stations that focussed on different senses. While the children had fun trying out different activities with BISS Puxi students in Stage 1, their parents and carers attended a painting workshop led by Ms Dixon. At the end of the session everyone met up again for a nice lunch in the Secondary Dining Room. It was a really enjoyable morning.

“I thought it was very a good experience especially for interacting with people who aren’t as fortunate as we are. It was also great to use my Chinese outside of class in a different context,” said Loric Vezin, BISS Puxi Year 12 student. “The children loved the activities we organised for them. The play doh station was fun. It was cool to see the children communicate with us,” added Laila Ru Hoctor, Year 7 student at BISS Puxi.
