In mid November, the British International School Shanghai, Pudong Campus, is proud to announce that its International Baccalaureate (IB) program has been highly commended following the review in May by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). BISS Pudong is the only school in Shanghai to be highly commended by the IBO in the last year.

As an IBO accredited school, The British International School Shanghai Pudong is subject to this thorough review every five years. The review, which examines every aspect of the IB Program, is undertaken by highly experienced IB professionals in conjunction with IB Asia Pacific, the regional office of the Diploma Program.

The school has been highly commended in all aspects of its IB Program and has been praised as a quality school. The report highlighted the excellent standards of its systems and practices developed through the positive relationship with parent company Nord Anglia Education, the quality of its school improvement plans and the excellent support provided to both students and teachers in the school.

The report stated: “The Panel highly commends Pudong Campus on its continued commitment to the principles of international education and, in particular, to the mission and aims of the IB and Diploma Program. It is clear from the evidence presented that Pudong Campus is a quality IB school that has explicitly embedded many of the core beliefs and values of the IB, such as internationalism and the learner profile, into all aspects of the school.”

The report goes on to confirm that the school accurately self assessed in all areas and praised the school for the quality of the strategic planning undertaken.

Executive Principal Dr. Terry Creissen OBE said: “This is a fantastic achievement and testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff. Our philosophy is to ‘Help others thrive’ and we pride ourselves on putting the student at the centre of all we do. The results of this review confirm that this is the best approach to help us create leading global citizens of all our students.”
