On 27 May, 34 Beanstalk International Bilingual School (BIBS) middle/senior students and four teacher chaperones departed for a week-long adventure and exploration to Inner Mongolia.

After they arrived in the capital city Hohhot, they went directly to the grasslands. “The grasslands look like they stretch for miles, which looks incredibly beautiful,” said the excited students. That night they saw the sunset, which was “a gorgeous shade of gold,” described one student, and slept in Mongolian yurts.

More adventure came on the second day as they went to the desert by bus and enjoyed their time sand-sliding and camel riding. The next day they visited Genghis Khan’s Mausoleum to learn more about the history of Inner Mongolia and its famous leader. The splendid scenery and rich culture left students with a memorable trip. On the final day students returned to Hohhot to explore the city’s sights and also visited a local school to have an exchange with the students, which made this trip extra meaningful.
