biba-jumpOn 17 and 18 January, Beijing International Bilingual Academy (BIBA) Student Leadership members participated in a program called JUMP! The Foundation is a non-profit social enterprise that uses experiential education to advance a world in which individuals, community leaders and global citizens realize their passions and potential.

The theme of the training at BIBA was “personal discovery and personal leadership.”  Students participated in a number of challenges that asked them to think about themselves, their own strengths and the strengths of others. The training enabled students to engage with each other, encourage conversation and to speak freely whilst exploring ideas. By the end of the program students were able to reflect on their own contributions as leaders in the school, empowering them to develop a purpose that will aid in the current and future endeavours at BIBA and the local community.

As stated by Himang Park (Grade 7), "Through this activity, I had the opportunity to identify where I am, what I need to work on and how I am different from others. I also learned that not all people are perfect at everything and we all have our strengths and weaknesses."
