bcis-natasha-ongBeijing City International School had extra reason to be proud recently as one of its Grade 7 students, Natasha Ong, successfully competed in Skate Beijing 2015, a large-scale individual and team ice skating competition. Ong won gold medals both in her individual and team categories – the fruits of months of hard work and training.

Natasha Ong trained for around six months to prepare for the competition, practicing at least two times per week from 9pm to midnight, mostly on the weekends. While this was not a school project, she nonetheless was a superb ambassador for BCIS, embodying the school’s philosophy of inclusiveness, sportsmanship and open-mindedness.

BCIS believes that a good school will always support students in their extra-curricular endeavors, especially when it is something the students are really passionate about. The world students are learning in has never before been so competitive, with the requirements and expected standards of colleges ever increasing. Natasha Ong is an excellent example to other students in Beijing, following her own passion and putting in hard work and commitment to attain a personal goal. BCIS couldn’t be more proud of its ice champion!
