bcis_toddler_pro_session-71On 16 January, Beijing City International School (BCIS) hosted its second ECC Information Session to tell parents more about the exciting new Toddler Program. The event attracted a diverse group of families, some already at BCIS, and some who aren’t yet part of the BCIS community. The event began with an introduction to the ECC and the Toddler Program, which outlined the aims and benefits of the program. These benefits include a program designed to stimulate significant cognitive development, a safe and innovative environment perfect for toddlers to engage in investigative play, an opportunity for toddlers to develop both fine and gross motor skills and an opportunity for toddlers to develop social skills.

After the presentation, parents were invited to visit the current Nursery classroom and see for themselves how nursery-age children learn at BCIS. Anna Forster, currently a BCIS parent with a child in Nursery, brought her toddler son with her to the event. In her words: “For me, the most valuable thing is that the Toddler Program is a full-day program. It’s quite unique among the other schools I’ve looked at, and it ties in well with my routine right now. The ECC is also an impressive facility, and I really like the teachers and education at BCIS. They have a non-intrusive program that allows my kids to grow as independent individuals.”
