bcis-palworkshopOn 26 September, Beijing City International School (BCIS) held its second Parents as Learners (PAL) Workshop of the current academic year. The workshops are designed to bring useful information to parents and community members to help them learn key things about their child’s education, health or overall development.

Past topics have included how to stand out in the competitive international university admissions process; promoting a better understanding of dyslexia; the real dangers of gaming addiction and many more.

Matthew Jaskol of Alpine Education, who works with international schools to prepare incoming students to succeed academically and socially, led the September workshop. He went into detail on challenges for parents and students when moving to an international school, and how parents can help with the transition. Around 50 parents came to the event, and it was hailed as a great success.
