bcis-loops-iduOn a clear and fine 2 June, a strong love for the arts clearly permeated the halls of the Secondary School building of Beijing City International School (BCIS).

The reason for all the pleasing aesthetics was due to Grades 6-9 students hustling and bustling to make a most spectacular Arts Interdisciplinary Unit (IDU) Day for not just themselves, but the entire community.

Indeed, the Secondary School building was turned into a canvas for the young learners to let their imaginations run wild, as well as a stage for them to hold jaw-dropping performances that received much applause. All this was done under the interesting theme, “Loops.”

The show kicked off with a lively theatrical performance by the Grade 6 students that saw them repeat the word “stupid,” which it certainly was not. Other theatrical performances by the Grade 7 students followed, as well as a grand visual art exhibition displaying various works, including many done on the spot by Grade 9 students, were held in the corridors.

Overall, the students were able to collaborate on and create an amazing and powerful environment to demonstrate their keen artistic sense and abilities in a relatively short time. Once again, the school spirit was strong and a fine day was had.
