As the new academic year begins, Angels International Bilingual Kindergarten (Angels Kindergarten) is very proud to announce the addition of two more new Elite classrooms. Not only does this mean the Kindergarten is capable of fostering the development of a higher number of new students, but also it means the faculty and staff has increased to maintain a four to one student-teacher ratio. Furthermore, the increase in teaching staff numbers brings an even larger diversity of teaching styles and methods from which each and every student can benefit.

During the course of the school year, little Angels will have the opportunity to see some of Stan Lai’s wonderful mastery in theatre, and be able to receive his guidance and insight in their own performances at the kindergarten.

Besides performing arts, piano is another fantastic outlet that Angels Kindergarten provides to students to develop courage, express themselves in a new way and gain new skills on stage. The Kindergarten has maintained its partnerships with both the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra. These relationships provide an extraordinary musical opportunity for all students to take exclusive piano sessions with the well-known pianist Jiang Shan, as well as giving them the chance to become more confident and self-assured on stage – qualities that are increasingly important in today’s global stage. Study of the piano is also helpful for the children in many other ways such as improving creativity and allowing a medium for creative expression. Angels Kindergarten plans to hold several musical recitals throughout the year in which students are able to showcase their talents and perform on stage in a variety of engaging and fun programs.

Additionally, Angels Kindergarten will make full use of its ice-skating rink that opened earlier this year. All K1 and K2 students of Angels Kindergarten will continue to take weekly ice skating sessions under the guidance of Liu Ying, a professionally qualified ice-skating instructor. Each student learns and practices all the fundamentals of ice-skating including essential safety, balance, gross motor development skills and natural dexterity on the ice. Ice-skating has proven to be a great activity for children to develop co-ordination, gain confidence and socialize with their peers. This exercise can also help children decrease stress, improve bodily health and leave them in an overall better mood. Along with the aerobic and health benefits of ice skating proficiency, the students also learn a new, unique skill that they can make use of for years to come, whether they enjoy ice skating with friends and family or pursue other ice related sports such as speed skating, ice hockey and figure skating.
