aidi-math-party2On 14 March, the fifth "π Day" event organized by the Mathematics Teaching Group in Aidi School kicked off. Because the approximate value of π is 3.14, Aidi School has set the "π Day " event on 14 March since 2013, to provide students with a more interesting opportunity to find the beauty of mathematics.

A variety of activities were designed to increase student participation, such as the Sudoku puzzle contest, Hanoi Tower, magic cubes, and mathematical clay models. This kind of scenes can be seen everywhere during the event: some students sit on the roadside and pondered how to deal with the Sudoku puzzle; some students focused on the magic cube in their hands and considered how to restore them.

Since the end of the last semester, math teachers began to use their spare time to develop different activities for students at different ages, so that every student in the school could participate. "In conventional teaching, mathematics, as a compulsory subject, is more about enhancing students’ understanding about concepts. However, the "π Day" event is held for the purpose of stimulating student interest and allow them to study more deeply to explore this knowledge or discipline. It is more conducive to their future study", the event organizer Teacher Ma said. Aidi’s interesting activities like "π Day" can open a road for students to explore the truth through diligent thinking and courage for innovation.
