On September 1, 3e International will be launching the only elementary/primary school program of its kind in Beijing, starting with Grades 1 and 2.

Grades 3 and 4 will be welcomed in 2009-2010, and grades 5 and 6 will be expected in 2010-2011. Enrollment for the elementary program has begun for the 2008/2009 school year.

3e has a uniquely designed elementary curriculum recently completed by a team of Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education professionals who are affiliated with both Michigan State University and Beijing Normal University.

The curriculum will be delivered in a dual immersion setting with half of the subjects taught in English and the other half taught in Chinese. Children will start their day promptly at 8:30 am in either the Chinese or English classroom until lunch time. Immediately following lunch, children will swap classrooms until 3:30 pm.

After school activities will be available for those interested that will extend their day to approximately 4:30 pm.

Subjects taught daily will include English Language, Chinese Language, Cultural and Global Competence and Math. Subjects taught as specials will be instructed 1-3 times a week and include Art, Technology, Science, Physical Education, Music and Performing Arts and Advanced Mandarin.

Each classroom will have a maximum of 16 students with a 1:8 teacher to student ratio. Classrooms will include a Lead and Assistant Teacher who are of native Chinese or English language and hold both degrees and certifications in Elementary Education.

My college University of Nebraska wishes to send a representative to visit your school Monday, May 31. Dean Kostelnik has a relationship with the director from Michigan. Is this a possibility? Thank you.
