swimming 3 On January 9 & 10, 24 members of the Shanghai Rego International School swim squad bravely embarked upon a 24 hour charity swim. They were divided into four teams of six students and every member of the team swam for one hour every 6 hours (4 hours in total!) to help raise money for poor children in Cambodia.

In other related sports news, the Shanghai Rego rugby team is going to play the PSE School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The children who attend the school in Cambodia live on a landfill site and many cannot even afford food, let alone school. The charity swim is expected to raise money to buy rugby kits for the PSE School so that when the Shanghai Rego team plays them, the PSE school kids will also have a kit. Hopefully, the money can also support these Cambodian children to attend school for one more year. It only costs 46 USD/month to send a child to school!

In total the squad swam a distance of 245, 825m or 245.825km! The school thanks everyone who helped to make the event a success. The rugby kits will be presented to the students at PSE by Shanghai Rego rugby team during their tour of Cambodia this term.
